Too good to be true?

Shopping around, it's easy to find a product that looks the same as another company's but cheaper. It may even claim to have more of what you are looking for AND cheaper. The first reaction is commonly to think this is a better option for me.
But I'd like to pause and ask: Is it actually better? Will it work like the other one? Better? Worse? Is the greater amount that company is placing in their product even healthy?
The nutraceutical industry is one with very little regulation. If the FDA isn't checking, who is? This is an important consideration when time, money and health is on the line.
This is where third party verification comes into play, where trusted brands matter, and where the old adage of "you get what you pay for" originates.
It's true, there are a lot of products and companies out there. And it is also true that making a worthwhile investment in products/supplements may not be synonymous with more and cheaper.
